WEEK ONE What did you learn this week? I learned this week that the state of Iowa uses NGSS in its curriculums. I especially learned the 3 different parts of the NGSS( SEPS, DCIs, Common Connections). As well as Crosscutting Concepts. How can you apply what you've learned to your teaching in the future? In the future, knowing the parts of NGSS will allow me to create a better lesson plan for my students on specific science topics. Specifically one part that I think is going to be very useful is the Connection Box. Being able to include other subjects along with science is a great usage of NGSS. What are new or remaining questions? Is there something like NGSS for other subjects? How do you best utilize NGSS along with the Iowa Standards? Lab Photo: Picture of our future classroom
